Decorating your Entry for Fall!
Turn your front entry into a welcoming space with these fun tips on how to decorate for Autumn!
You may not want to place scary Halloween décor around your front porch, entry, stoop, or apartment door. However, you can add a spash of fun, fall color by placing several planters with autumn flowers atop your porch railing or next to your front door. Mums make an inexpensive and beautiful way to add a pop of color.
Pumpkins of all colors and shapes are available this time of year. Choose several different sizes in varying colors and place them around your entry. They look lovely lining the steps leading to your door, or sitting on a front bench. You don’t even have to carve them. If you prefer some type of decoration on the pumpkins, simply add decorative tacks available at your local dollar or craft store. You can also spray paint the pumpkins in white, off white, black, or fall colors.
A wreath can easily be transformed for autumn by adding small pumpkins, tiny corn husks, pine cones or bows. Even a simple, handmade wreath of leaves and a burlap bow will brighten up the space. You don’t have to limit the wreath to the front door. You can hang it on a tree, or on a side or garage wall. Wreaths can also be strung on a fence.
It doesn’t have to cost a lot to add a few fall decorations to your front entry. Take a look around the inside of your home for items to use outdoors. Here are a few of our favorite ideas: a bucket or basket filled with pine cones and leaves, a lantern filled with small pumpkins or gourds, a cake stand to display your pumpkin, an old broom tied with fall ribbons, an old board painted orange with the words HARVEST or WELCOME stencilled vertically.
Get creative. Decorate to your region with palm trees in the south or chili ristras in the southwest.
