What Does it Mean to Live Intentionally?
What does it mean to live intentionally? For some of us, it may mean starting something you know God wants you to do. For others, it might be giving up a bad habit or removing an idol in our life that is taking our eyes off God.
To live intentionally is to make a decision to act according to God’s will and on His time table. It is not easy, but it is extremely rewarding.
One Thing, 30 Days
For the next 30 days, pick one area of your life that you want to change and begin to pray about it. Whether you are having issues in your relationship, contemplating a career change, or need to start a path to a healthier you, start today! The Bible is the best source of information. For instance, you can search bible verses by topic, and you will find many that will speak to your specific needs. Add a free Bible App to your smartphone (we like the YouVersion App) so that you can easily search Bible info anytime, anywhere!
Write it down, post-it on your mirror, and speak it out loud each morning. DO something each day, no matter how small, to continue with your goal. Every day, remind yourself that you made a decision and that you plan on sticking to that decision, no matter how hard it seems that day. Want to write a book? Commit to writing at least 500 words a day. It doesn’t matter if the dialogue is terrible, editing comes later. A 50,000 word book will be written in only 100 days by living intentionally!
His Strength, Not Yours
You may have heard the phrase, God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called. That means that you already have everything you need to succeed. Satan comes to kill, steal, and destroy, and enjoys nothing more than seeing God’s people living amidst unrealized potential. The good news is that being intentional means giving God the permission to unleash His full potential in YOU!
Being Intentional ultimately means choosing one way over another. Are you willing to head in the RIGHT direction today?
