Funny T-Shirts & Tips to Conquer Clutter!
Organizing – Funny phrases found on mugs, tee shirts and signs… & tips to conquer clutter!
Knock Knock! Who’s There?
This funny joke that kids love to tell over and over isn’t so funny for adults who struggle with clutter. Does the mere thought of an uninvited visitor at your door bring instant anxiety? If so, it may be because you are overwhelmed by clutter. If clutter is keeping you from enjoying spontaneous visits from friends and family, it’s time to tackle the clutter!
Organized people are just too lazy to look for things – coffee mug
Ha, ha! This mug has a point! Organized people don’t like wasting time searching for things – so they put everything in its place and conserve their energy for more important tasks, such as having fun with the time they save!
He who dies with the most stuff, is still dead – coffee mug
Oh my! Can’t argue with that. You can’t take it with you, so why bother surrounding yourself in stuff that you don’t use but still have to maintain. Choose your things carefully and avoid over accumulating.
Sometimes I feel like throwing in the towel, but it would only make more laundry for me – tee-shirt
LOL! At one time or another, we may experience that feeling of wanting to give up – especially on organizing. However, it’s often better to stick it out. While organizing takes some time to clear clutter and organize routines, creating a system can have amazing benefits! Keep your eye on the prize!
You say control freak like it’s a bad thing – tee-shirt
Funny! There are many degrees of control that one may wish to maintain. The ability to be in charge is a bonus, however, be sure to consider the feelings and opinions of others around you!
Tomorrow is often the busiest day of the week – Spanish Proverb
This proverb is so true that Sunday through Monday even agree! Ha, ha. Give tomorrow a break and stop procrastinating. Do a little more today. In the words of Ralph Marston, “What you do today can improve all of your tomorrows.”
Me? A procrastinator? I’ll prove you wrong. Just you wait and see. – Greeting card
Spot on! Ha! Putting things off until later is one of the most common roadblocks to organizing. The road is paved with good intentions, so begin your journey today!
Pardon the mess. We live here. – Household sign
So clever! Yet um… not the best excuse. We all live in our houses and it’s easy for things to get left out all over the place. But, that’s how we lose important things, introduce chaos, and invite stress into our lives. Reduce clutter, give things a place to go, and get in the routine of putting things away.
Bored children at my house get to play with the vacuum – Household sign
Eye roll. “Mom, I’m bored!” “Dad, there’s nothing to do around here!” These are some common complaints which come out of the mouths of our kids. We joke about putting kids to work around the house, but it’s not a silly idea. Teaching children age-appropriate household skills can go a long way. It encourages them to be responsible, respectful, and appreciative. It helps to instill the values of hard work and to be proud of their contributions.
Cleaning is just putting stuff in less obvious places – Household sign
Humorous! It’s hard to live with a lot of clutter. The more we leave out, the messier our homes become. It is great to put things away “in less obvious places” by giving everything a home. However, you can’t just shove things out of sight. Organizing takes some planning and forethought. It involves getting rid of things we don’t need or use which hog our space. Once we free up space, it’s easier to get in the swing of cleaning quickly and efficiently.
You never know what you have…until you clean a room. – Household sign
You betcha! Many of us are guilty of overfilling closets, drawers, cabinets, etc., ad nauseam. Then, we discover we have all this stuff we forgot about. Decide what to keep, discard, donate or sell. Meanwhile, remind yourself to stop adding to the clutter by purchasing things you don’t really need.
Instead of cleaning, I watch hoarding shows and think Wow my house looks great! – Coffee mug
Goofy! This is meant to be a joke, but if you’re not careful, clutter can sneak up on you. To prevent overabundance, rotate from room to room and get rid of unneeded things. Feeling overwhelmed? Take it one little drawer at a time and organize for 15 to 30 minutes each day.
My house was clean last week. Sorry you missed it – Household sign
My sides ache. Funny! Houses grow messy when you fail to keep up with them. Teach everyone in the household how to clean/straighten up. Show them where things go. Get everyone involved by assigning clean-up tasks. Then, reward household members by taking them bowling or out to the movies for some fun family time!
